I am a product of the Palm Beach County public school system having attended K-12 at Kirklane Elementary, Conniston Middle School and John I. Leonard High.   All three of my sons attended public schools in Wellington as well.”   

Kelly Smallridge, President & CEO of the Business Development Board, has been active member of the Foundation’s Board of Directors for the past five years.  Among other accomplishments, she is the longest tenured economic development President in the state of Florida and first female in South Florida.

Education Foundation of Palm Beach County Receives Florida Lottery Lighting the Way
to a Bright Future Grant

Students, Administrators & EFPBC Staff with HVAC equipment donation

The $4,000 grant contribution from the Florida Lottery will fund Raiders Rock the SAT: Growing College Ready in a Virtual World, a pilot program at Glades Central Community High School is providing over four hundred junior and senior students, many of whom will be first generation high school graduates, the opportunity to participate in a rigorous SAT preparation program to increase their skills.

Honoring Success in Education in Virtual Presentation

Join us for an education update by The School District of Palm Beach County‘s Superintendent, Dr. Donald E. Fennoy II. Kelly Smallridge, President of The Business Development Board and James S. Gavrilos, President & CEO of the Education Foundation of Palm Beach County will share the importance of the business community’s role in supporting education. 

We will be celebrating two of our Palm Beach County graduates with the Distinguished Alumni Award for the exceptional contributions made in their professional fields and communities.  The Outstanding Community Leadership Award will be presented to a Palm Beach County leader who has dedicated his life to public service. This award recognizes his commitment to our community and his selfless service to others.

Connecting Kids in the Community
through Digital Inclusion

 

The Digital Inclusion Initiative’s goal is to grant all students, regardless of zip code, access to reliable internet access in their homes.  The Initiative is a partnership between local municipalities, Palm Beach CountyThe Education Foundation of Palm Beach County, public and private funders, as well as The School District of Palm Beach County.  This collaboration is creating a WIFI mesh network and providing WIFI extenders to connect more than 25,000 students in need to high-speed internet.
