11th Annual Heroes for Education 5K Media Advisory

WHO: Education Foundation of Palm Beach County
A record-breaking crowd of more than 1,600 enthusiastic runners, walkers, local students and “Education Heroes” of all ages will rally together at John Prince Park for the Education Foundation’s 11th Annual Heroes for Education 5K.

WHAT: 11th Annual Heroes for Education 5K
This 5K promotes health and wellness while raising vital funds and awareness for the Education Foundation’s programs, grants and initiatives, which support the School District of Palm Beach County.

Awards will be given in the following categories:

  • Heroes Awards
    • Palm Beach County public schools with the most participants registered for their team will be awarded the Heroes Award. Prizes are awarded for the largest overall team, as well as High School, K-8 School (new this year), Middle School, Elementary School and Alternative School.
  • Fastest Team
    • 1st Place, 2nd Place and 3rd Place awarded for Elementary School, Middle School, K-8 School and High School.
  • Age Group Awards
    • Awards will be given out by age groups presented in 5-year increments, ages 9 to 70+. 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place winners will be awarded, as well as Overall Winners, Masters and Grand Masters for both males and females.
  • School Mascot Dash
    • It’s a dash to the finish line for our Palm Beach County school mascots to claim the School Mascot Dash title. $250 prize for the fastest mascot on the move! This race is only for costumed Palm Beach County School District mascots.

WHEN: Sunday, October 5, 2025. Registration at 6 a.m. Kids 1-Mile Fun Run starts at 7:15 a.m. 5K starts at 7:45 a.m. Awards at 9:15 a.m.
