Distinguished Alumni Award Recipient
Sheriff Ric Bradshaw, a proud graduate of Lake Worth Community High School, was first elected Palm Beach County sheriff in 2004 and has served nearly five decades in law enforcement, leading the largest law enforcement agency in Palm Beach County with approximately 4,400 dedicated staff members.
Bradshaw began his career in law enforcement as a member of the West Palm Beach Police Department, where he rose through the ranks as a road patrol officer, detective sergeant, lieutenant, captain, major, assistant chief of police, and eventually, chief of police.
Bradshaw graduated from Palm Beach Atlantic University with a bachelor’s degree in human resources management, and also holds a master’s degree in administration with a specialization in emergency management from Lynn University.
A U.S. Marine Corps veteran, Bradshaw has served on the Florida Sheriff’s Emergency Task Force, the Regional Domestic Security Task Force, and the FBI’s Joint Terrorist Task Force Executive Board, among other honors.
Bradshaw proudly says, “The people of Palm Beach County, and the Sheriff’s Office make a great team, which is why Palm Beach County is a great place to live, work, and raise a family.”
Business Partner of the Year Award Recipient
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office is the largest law enforcement agency in the county and works tirelessly to not only protect our communities, but also set a stellar example for local children.
Among its more than 4,000 staff members are approximately 1,500 sworn law enforcement officials and 700 sworn corrections deputies, along with roughly 1,900 civilian support staff and 1,800 volunteers.
The agency is proud to serve as a positive influence on local students through the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office Explorer and Junior Explorer Programs, which are designed for children as young as 11 who are interested in careers in law enforcement and community service.
Explorers learn firsthand about investigations, first aid, crime prevention, and firearm safety, among other skills, and participate in community service events throughout Palm Beach County.
The Education Foundation of Palm Beach County, the Business Development Board of Palm Beach County, and the School District of Palm Beach County are thrilled to honor Sheriff Ric Bradshaw and the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office with the 2025 Distinguished Alumni Award and Business Partner of the Year Award.
