Thanks to a generous $25,000 grant contribution from the Motorola Solutions Foundation, the charitable arm of Motorola Solutions, the Education Foundation is partnering with the School District of Palm Beach County’s School Police Department to support Forest Hill Community High School’s Criminal Justice Academy. This four-year program combines rigorous academics with practical skills, preparing students for post-secondary success while building positive relationships with school police and local law enforcement.
Students will learn practical skills and field exercises which include courtroom demeanor and testifying, report writing, identification, collection and preservation of evidence, interviewing techniques, radio communications, patrol techniques, traffic direction, traffic crash investigations, defensive tactics, CPR, First Aid, and fingerprinting. Students also participate in numerous community service events to prepare them for a life of leadership and service to the community. Upon successful completion of this program, students will obtain a certificate of completion, their standard high school diploma, CPR and First Aid certifications, and skills that will help prepare them for a future career.
The Motorola Solutions Foundation, which has donated more than $100 million over the past 10 years, focuses its giving on three key areas: first responder programming, technology and engineering education and programs that blend the two. The Foundation has a long-standing
