History: Established in 1984 by visionary business leaders in Palm Beach County, the Education Foundation has stood as a vital pillar for K-12 public education, driving change and fostering excellence in classrooms across Palm Beach County. As the philanthropic support organization for the School District of Palm Beach County, the Foundation partners with the local business and charitable community to fund transformative programs that close achievement gaps and create measurable, positive outcomes for students. This mission is accomplished through innovative classroom grants and high-quality professional development opportunities that empower teachers and enhance learning experiences.
The Foundation’s unique matching grant program collaborates with corporate and private investors to support impactful projects that elevate literacy, improve grade-level performance, boost graduation rates, and expand STEM and career-focused academies, especially targeting underperforming students and schools. Recognizing that every child’s success hinges on access to essential tools and resources, the Foundation launched the Red Apple Supplies (RAS) program, a free school supply store dedicated to serving the highest-need Title I Schools in Palm Beach County. Since its inception in 2016, RAS has distributed over $3 million in free supplies, ensuring that teachers and students have the resources they need to thrive. The Education Foundation continues to build a brighter future for all students, one innovative initiative at a time.
