More Than a School Supply Drive
Stuff the Bus wasn’t simply about collecting school supplies—it was a celebration of community.
Special thanks to Vanilla Ice, the Lake Worth Community High School Band, the Boca High School Cheer Team, the Royal Palm Beach Community High School Cheer Team, and the Santaluces High School Basketball Team for bringing incredible energy and school spirit throughout the day.
Their enthusiasm helped transform Stuff the Bus into a true community celebration while reminding us all what this event is really about—coming together to support Palm Beach County students.
What happens when an entire community comes together with one goal? Incredible things.
On Thursday, August 6, hundreds of community members, businesses, elected officials, first responders, volunteers, and generous donors gathered at Office Depot on Okeechobee Boulevard for the Education Foundation of Palm Beach County’s annual Stuff the Bus, hosted by CBS12 and proudly sponsored by Office Depot.
By the end of the day, our community had accomplished something extraordinary.
Not one bus. Not two buses like last year. Four buses were filled to capacity with school supplies, and together our community contributed more than $500,000 in school supplies and financial support to help local students begin the 2026–2027 school year prepared, confident, and ready to learn.
This incredible achievement would not have been possible without the unwavering generosity of our community.
4 buses filled with school supplies
More than $500,000 raised
36,000+ backpacks prepared
55 Title I schools supported
This incredible achievement would not have been possible without the unwavering generosity of our community.
Throughout the day, individuals and families stopped by to donate backpacks, notebooks, pencils, crayons, folders, glue sticks, and countless other classroom essentials. Local businesses organized school supply drives, community partners delivered truckloads of donations, and volunteers worked tirelessly to unload, sort, and pack supplies as they poured in.
The event also welcomed numerous community leaders and elected officials who came out to demonstrate their support for public education and the thousands of students who benefit from the Backpack Initiative each year.
From corporate teams arriving with pallets of supplies to children proudly carrying a single backpack to donate, every contribution represented something much greater than school supplies—it represented a community investing in its future.
The success of Stuff the Bus marks the culmination of months of planning, community backpack builds, fundraising campaigns, volunteer events, and school supply drives that have brought together hundreds of organizations and thousands of volunteers throughout Palm Beach County.
As backpacks are now distributed during Meet the Teacher events and back-to-school celebrations across Palm Beach County, students will soon walk into classrooms carrying supplies made possible by the generosity of an entire community.
