On the first day of school, a child without the necessary school supplies often feels a mix of anxiety and embarrassment. While others students excitedly compare new backpacks, colorful notebooks, and freshly sharpened pencils, a child without might shrink back, hoping to go unnoticed. The lack of supplies can make them feel unprepared and out of place, heightening their nerves about meeting new teachers and classmates. The anxiety can overshadow their enthusiasm, making it hard to focus on the excitement of new beginnings. That’s why providing a child with something as simple as a $25 backpack makes a huge difference.
As the first day of school approaches, the backpack builds are coming to a close. This week’s efforts have been particularly impactful, thanks to the generous support of volunteer groups from United Franchise Group, Seacoast Bank, ZimVie Dental, Verdex Construction, The Club at Quail Ridge, and NCCI. Their dedication ensured that students from Grassy Waters Elementary, UB Kinsey/Palmview Elementary, Jupiter Elementary, Northboro Elementary, Cholee Lake Elementary, and Glade View Elementary received well-packed backpacks. These contributions will help set the stage for a successful and prepared start to the new school year.
