Jupiter Middle Engineering Academy's Rocket Build and Launch program is engaging over fifty 7th and 8th grade students in building and launching rockets through their engineering course and STEM Club. Students are learning first-hand information from experts in the field regarding careers in engineering, software development, information technology, and quality control.

A few years ago, the late Ed Tancer called to share with the Foundation a “powerhouse” as a recommendation for consideration to the Education Foundation’s Board of Directors.  He introduced us to Ms. Sophia Nelson.  And five minutes into the first conversation with Sophia, it was apparent the Foundation had found a Board Member!  The President and CEO of S.A. Nelson and Associates since 2016, Sophia’s natural energy and enthusiasm inspires others around her.

Education Foundation of Palm Beach County Receives Foundation Grant to Support Digital Inclusion for Students in Palm Beach County

The School District of Palm Beach County’s students and teachers are benefiting from a partnership with Verizon this year, one that seeks to bridge the digital divide. Through an investment and grant contribution made to the Education Foundation of Palm Beach County, teachers and students in 63 Title 1 schools will have access to the Foundation’s Red Apple Supplies Store’s first ever Digital Inclusion Section.

Red Apple Supplies Expands Services with a New Truck

The Education Foundation is proud to announce a second vehicle has joined the fleet at Red Apple Supplies. An investment in public-education from The Honda Classic, Frederick A. DeLuca Foundation, and the Batchelor Foundation contributed to the success in obtaining this 14’ box truck.

Palm Beach Lakes HS Fire Science Academy Anticipates its First Graduate this May

The partnership between business and education is vital to the workforce pipeline. Through a collaborative partnership between the Education Foundation, JPMorgan Chase & Co, and the School District of Palm Beach County, the Fire Science Academy was formed at Palm Beach Lakes Community High School in 2018.  Three years later, the school will celebrate its first graduate from the program this May.

Education Foundation of Palm Beach County Receives Florida Lottery Lighting the Way to a Bright Future Grant

The $4,000 grant contribution from the Florida Lottery will fund Raiders Rock the SAT: Growing College Ready in a Virtual World, a pilot program at Glades Central Community High School is providing over four hundred junior and senior students, many of whom will be first generation high school graduates, the opportunity to participate in a rigorous SAT preparation program to increase their skills.

This latest of her many awards and accolades simply acknowledges what we have all known: Kelly Smallridge is The Woman of the Year for All Years!

Moore, UnitedHealthcare Executive and Education Foundation (EFPBC) Board member, joined Carlye Fabrikant with the SDPBC Wellness Taskforce to award the inaugural Monthly Prize for Wellness Excellence to Dr. McKnight, Principal and her team at West Rivera Elementary.

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Education Foundation of Palm Beach County, Inc. and Adopt-A-Family of the Palm Beaches, Inc. have been named as the 2020 Bank of America Neighborhood Builders® awardees for Palm Beach County. The nonprofits were selected for their work in the Palm Beach community addressing issues fundamental to economic mobility, specifically, in helping close achievement gaps in learning, creating positive, measurable change for students, and preventing homelessness for hard-working, low-income families.

In the last few years, “Corporate Social Responsibility” has become a topic for many companies.  They look to “do the right thing” and make an impact in their local community. Committees are formed, task forces assigned…and employee volunteer engagement is encouraged.  For some companies however, Corporate Social Responsibility is nothing new…it is embedded in their very DNA.  U.S. Sugar is one of those companies.

Every now and then, we meet people in whose very DNA is embedded passion…passion for a cause and a desire to make the community better.  Marty Cass is one of those individuals.   For over ten years, he has served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Education Foundation of Palm Beach County (EFPBC) as well as serving as Chair of the Development Committee to raise funds to support EFPBC initiatives.  But his commitment to education had a much earlier start.

The Frederick A. DeLuca Foundation Awards Grant Supporting Cybersecurity Academy at Santaluces Community High School

The Education Foundation of Palm Beach County, Inc. and the School District of Palm Beach County's Department of Choice and Career Options are pleased to announce that The Frederick A. DeLuca Foundation has approved a 3-year grant. This grant will provide start-up funding in support of the Cybersecurity Academy at Santaluces Community High School. The program will focus on creating a diverse student pipeline to enter the program and preparing Cybersecurity Academy students to enter the workforce.  Learn More...
