This 5K is run on a certified race course and timed by Accuchip. Click here to view course map.
If you are not able to attend but still wish to participate, you can register as a Virtual Runner. (Virtual Runners count as half a runner towards Heroes Awards totals.) Take a photo so we can see you on the go, #Heroes5K #VirtualRunner and we will send you a race shirt (while supplies last). All entry fees are non-transferable and cannot be refunded.
During the registration process you have the opportunity to:
- Create a new team with you as the Captain of the team (Register Captain). You then create the Team Name and continue with your registration.
- Join an existing team (Register Teammate). A dropdown box will appear with options to registered existing teams. Highlight the team you wish to join and continue with your registration.
During registration, you will have the opportunity to purchase an EFPBC Cooling Sweatband. Proceeds will benefit the Education Foundation of PBC programs and grants, so we can serve more students, teachers and schools in the 10th largest school district in the country.

During the registration process you have the option to create a fundraising page.
Follow the prompts by clicking the "Create Fundraiser Team" icon. **This is different than registering as a race participant and running/walking in the event. Create a team Goal and challenge each other to meet and surpass that goal!**
Your participation helps to support Red Apple Supplies, a new free school supply store for high-needs classrooms, career education programs allowing students to excel academically and helps remove obstacles to graduation. Go Teach! Classroom Grants are also awarded to creatively teach in the classrooms as a result of your efforts.
When you register for the race, click 'Register Teammate' and find your school's team through the dropdown box. Highlight your school's team and then continue the registration process.
CLICK 'Yes" when asked "Are you with a School?" A dropdown box of all PBC public schools will appear. Choose your school. This will ensure you will be included towards the Heroes Award total team count.
Physical Education grants will be awarded in several categories:
- $1,000 Top Participating team
- $750 Top Participating Elementary School Team
- $750 Top Participating Middle School Team
- $750 Top Participating High School Team
- $500 Fastest Track/Running Club Team from an Elementary School*
- $500 Fastest Track/Running Club Team from a Middle School*
- $500 Fastest Track/Running Club Team from a High School*
Each award will be awarded to the designated Palm Beach County public school of the registered team(s). Schools. Private and non district-funded Charters Schools are not eligible. *Fastest School Team Awards winning schools will be determined by industry standards - the Fastest combined time of the top three runners from each category (elementary, middle school and high school). (Virtual Runners count as half a runner towards award totals. To join a team, they will need to register as a virtual runner and associate with a school. Award winners to be announced during the awards ceremony. TOP Fundraising winners will be announced on Nov 15. The race is located at Bryant Park, on the corner of Lake Ave. and Golfview Rd., in Lake Worth, FL. The closest address to the park is 1 Lake Ave., Lake Worth, FL 33460. Click here for directions.

On race day, please arrive between 6:00am - 7:00am to give yourself plenty of time to pick up your race packet if you have not already done so and warm up before the race. The 5K race will start promptly at 7:30am

Packet pick up will be available race day beginning at 6:00 AM.
Yes, someone else can pick up your packet at early packet pick up but they will need either a copy of their driver's license or their race confirmation.
Make sure you registered on the race registration website and completed your registration thoroughly. You can "Register Teammate" during the registration process to be added to an existing team. Creating a Race Team is different than creating a Fundraising Team. A fundraising team is not a registered participant for the 5K Run/Walk.
There is free, limited parking in Bryant Park. Free off-the street parking is also available within walking distance of Bryant Park. Be sure to obey local parking regulations.
Light refreshments will be provided following the race.
All finishers of the 5K and Kids race will receive a finisher's medal as they cross the finish line.
5K and Kids race participants registered for the event will receive a race shirt.
You can push a baby stroller but you must start in the back of the pack for the safety of the child as well as other participants.
The awards will be given out by age groups. Age group awards are presented in 5 year increments starting at age 9 and under to age 70 and over in the 5K race. First, second and third place winners will be awarded as well as Overall Winners and Masters for both male and female.
Race results will be posted the morning of the race and updated every five minutes until all runners are finished. Final race results will be posted at AccuChipTiming.com after 2:00pm the day of the race.
