Red Apple Supplies Store to Surpass Milestone
$200,000 in School Supplies Distributed in 2017-2018!!                                   Newly Elected Superintendent Dr. Donald Fennoy to Be on Hand for the Celebration  Saturday, March 17 at 11:00 A.M.

Two years ago, it was merely an idea…a response to a challenge: Too many teachers having to dip into their own pockets to buy school supplies for students in their classes who couldn’t afford them. But for Meredith Trim and the Board of the Education Foundation of Palm Beach County, the challenge was one to be overcome. And thus, the Red Apple Supplies Store was born. Today, just two years after the Education Foundation launched the Red Apple Supplies Store, teachers from 32 schools serving low income children are able to come and receive all the school supplies their students will need…at no charge!

This Saturday (March 17th), the Red Apple Supplies Store will surpass an amazing milestone. This Saturday, the retail value of the school supplies distributed in this academic year alone will surpass $200,000.Nine local teachers are registered to shop on Saturday morning…and one of them will put Red Apple Supplies Store over the top. To celebrate the occasion, Palm Beach County’s newly elected Superintendent Dr. Donald Fennoy will make his first visit to the Red Apple Supplies Store.

Education Foundation President and CEO James S. Gavrilos comments:“Saturday will be one of those days that defines the Education Foundation and the work we do. While one group of volunteers will be helping the teachers shop at Red Apple Supplies Store, another group of volunteers will be packing up backpacks with school supplies for the 400 or so young people who moved to Palm Beach County from Puerto Rico following the devastation of Hurricane Maria. You will have funders and business leaders coming together to make the public-school system in Palm Beach County the finest in the State. And to have Dr. Fennoy stop by for his first official visit?  It will be a morning to remember.”
